From start to finish he was candid, current and constantly kept me informed on each process, with relevant information. This was our first time to buy a home but it was not our first time trying! We had a lot of trouble with completing the process when we tried to use our VA Loan. So I looked online and found Troy, who knows well the ins and outs of the VA process. His professional attitude and expertise really helped to alleviate our fears. Troy has contractor experience as well, which I found especially useful, as he could easily spot potential troubles in a home. Overall, working with Troy was a great experience.

Troy is above and beyond any real estate agent I have ever worked with. This was our first house buying experience and Troy was our third or fourth Realtor that we saw houses with. The first time we met he slowed the process down for us and walked us through the steps, complete with explanations of the various types of houses for sale (short sales, foreclosed, etc). He was always very upfront with us, offering his expertise after we had seen a house, giving us estimates of what he thought it would take to make it into what we wanted. Troy gave us the space we needed to look at houses and never said they were quaint or charming but offered important advice on what looked like it might need updated or reminded us to check for recent service to furnaces, water heaters etc. Troy always answered his phone or got back to you within hours, not days. It felt like Troy really wanted to find you the house you wanted, and was truly interested in that rather than making a sale.
There is no better professional in the real estate business than Troy Doty. From the first phone call to the last closing detail, Troy was knowledgeable, extremely responsive, and able to solve whatever problem that came up. Troy knows the real estate business in Portland like the back of his hand. He came for our first appointment to consider listing my home on Monday afternoon. By Tuesday evening he had a full book with the comparable homes for my area, the amount I could qualify for on a new home, his marketing strategy, references, how much I could expect to net from my sale. I was stunned by the amount of information he was able to put together so quickly and thoroughly Troy uses technology to its fullest. I chose Troy to help me purchase a home because of his expertise and knowledge .I found Troy well informed, efficient, professional, and personable. He would give me his pros & cons of each property, which helped me in evaluating the property. If he did not know an answer, he would find out or direct me to the best source. He listened to what I desired in a home, and helped find that ideal home. He gave good advice on how strong an offer needed to be to help make it happen. He had the patience to search through more homes, when I was not perfectly satisfied. Today, I have a nice retreat I can call home which I am thrilled with! I met Troy when he responded to an inquiry I submitted on Zillow. He made a good impression but I only met with him briefly. I later began working with another agent that a co-worker had strongly recommended to me. I worked with her for almost three months but never felt 100% comfortable with her services. She did not seem to understand my priorities or the market in the part of the city I wanted to buy in. When I finally decided to quit working with her (and almost gave up on the process all together, believing I would never find anything) I thought of Troy and how responsive and prompt he had been. I contacted him and we began working together more seriously. Within days we found and visited a home that fit my needs perfectly. He involved me in the process of writing the offer and I truly felt that he was looking out for my family's best interests. He was sensitive to the fact that I was a first time home buyer and that my finances were limited.
